What does WLL (Working Load Limit) mean
WLL is the maximum load a piece of rigging hardware is approved to support in normal service. It is always lower than the breaking strength. For example, a shackle with a 4.75 t WLL is engineered with a safety factor (commonly 4:1, 5:1, or 6:1) relative to its minimum breaking load. Never exceed the marked WLL.
